Somewhat off topic here but.....I rode my motorcycle 365 miles down to Tennessee last week just to ride 11 miles across the Dragon's Tail (RT 129) to Deals Gap NC. 318 switchback curves in 11 miles. If ya think West Virginia roads are crooked you need to try the Dragon. Most fun I've ever had with my clothes on!!!! Had a great time touring the Smokies too!!! Check this link for some self serving photos...I'm on the copper and black "Bagger"

I've driven the Dragon's Tail. Nice stretch of road. Very scenic.

I don't pay insurance in the state of West Virginia. And a big problem with higher insurance rates in WV is car-animal incidents.

There's a HUGE difference in 'speeding' and doing the speed limit. Someone doing 30mph in a 55 is more dangerous than someone doing 60 in a 55. By doing under the speed limit, you force people to go around you, which forces them into the other lane, into oncoming traffic. And in West Virginia, y'all don't seem to comprehend the meaning of a double yellow line. Maybe there's where your higher insurance rates come from.

I think I know my own people. And I'd say passing someone in a passing zone when they're doing 25 mph UNDER the speed limit is hardly 'going redneck'.

Nope, I don't comprehend the meaning of a double line.. I pay taxes for both sides of the road. I'll use both of them if I wish...

LOL GHO, that seems to be the mentality.
Last year when my parents came to visit, I had to warn them that at any time, if they were doing less than 10 over, they'd be passed, yellow line or not. They didn't believe me. Ma just about wet herself when that truck went flyin' around them on an inside curve.

Double line? I thought that was just because I need new glasses...
I had my girlfriend saying "I can't believe you did that" when, while following a very slow tri-axle dump on 33 near Seneca Rocks, we came up to a very tight right hand turn. I got up on the tail of the truck, checked for oncoming traffic by looking along the *right* side of the truck as he rounded the bend, and was around him and back in the right hand lane before he was even straightened out from the curve.

Interesting plate but I'm surprised the car doesn't get stopped and police ask to remove the ornament as it obstructs the view of being able to read the plate number. Maybe it's just the illusion from viewing on this site and maybe one can actually read the full plate from the right hand side?

Good point. I was in Florida a couple of years ago and the police were cracking down on the plastic "surrounds" (advertising the dealer, your favorite sports team, etc.) because they partially obscured the yearly sticker.
Then again, I've always thought that they sometimes use minor infractions (taillight out and so forth) as excuse to stop suspicious vehicles that aren't otherwise breaking the law.
