Summersville is a great place. I have a house for rent there, send me a PM and we can chat about that.

As for what S'ville has in the way of apartments, most of the apartment complexes are for low income. Depending on what your income is you may or may not qualify. There are a few single apartments in people’s homes, over the garage type things. Get a copy of the Nicholas Chronicle, published 1x per week.

S’ville is a lovely town with nice surrounding communities. The “town” it’s self the main street area is mostly law offices, insurance companies and banks. One barber/beauty shop, dry cleaner, pharmacy, and a few restaurants make up the Main Street area. I am sure I am leaving something out, but the downtown area is very small. The major shopping is located at North Side, wall mart, fast food, car dealers, hotels, shoe stores you get the picture! 

S’ville has a hospital that is going through a major growth sprit, a small airport and Summersville Lake. Built in the 60’s as flood control by the Army Corps of Engineers, but most ppl think it was built for play, and that they do! It is a beautiful lake and FULL of ppl on the weekends.

Ask you specific questions and I will try my best to answer them. We plan to retire there

Thank you for the input. I'm not relocating until March 2010, just wanted to get a jump on things. I will get the Chronicle and see what is offered. Out of curiosity, if you don't mind, what do you rent your house for and what size is it?

Are you familiar with Nutter Fort? Saw a couple of interesting listings online. Still getting a feel for exactly where I want to go in WV (Central or Southern). Want some place near interstate but not busy like Morgantown

I am not really familiar with Nutter Fort, looks like Mo'town would be pretty close. I think you can get the NC on line, as they do have a web site. Not sure of the cost. I get a paper copy.

Have you made a trip to S'ville to look around?

I will PM you with details on our house.
