Suncrest Town Center
Now that Morgantown's next new outdoor mall is set to open, any clue on whether or not they're putting useful stores in? My guess is that it will be more of the same.. chain restaurants and chain boutiques. I wouldn't be against places like that, but they never inspire local business.

I'm not even sure it will be that...seems like nothing but offices and hotels so far. I wish we'd get a Dave & Buster's. That joint would make excessive amounts of cash in that location.

I agree...we now have a rich potential market for 'In Businesses...not only that, it would draw from a larger region...
I'm talking about the 'burg...Pitt, CMU and the smaller colleges have hip kids with money in their wallets...
And center them in one large oasis...like Suncrest Town Centre....great idea there, thanks.

A Dave and Buster's won't be happening in WV anytime soon, unfortunately. People have wanted one here in Huntington but check out the market requirements per their website:
Market Requirements
Super-regional Draw:
1,000,000 SF retail (1/4 mile)
100,000 daytime population (3 miles)
500,000 population (10 miles)
Dave & Buster’s – Eat, Drink, Play – Franchise Information

One store I'm hoping comes along is Harbor Freight Tools. They have great deals on all kinds of tools and the like, and Morgantown would be an ideal location for one.

Is the new movie theater part of the already-being-built structures? I'm curious. I'm hoping not, because that might indicate a chance of having an IMAX in town in the future.
Just to note, my curiosity in this place was piqued last week when I drove past for the first time in months. What a behemoth of consumerism that place will be.... I found an article online that I'm too lazy to link at the moment, but I believe the only confirmed businesses are a couple more banks, a Hilton hotel, McDonald's, and a fad chinese restaurant. If I have more time over the next couple of days, I'll dig up the link.

They are opening another strip mall in Morgantown? The beautiful Morgantown of my youth is turning into generic city USA.

Lots of people to be served in Morgantown...and about local businesses taking part?
What is the minimum investment for a hack shack...as that's all America is anymore...how about 1/2 a million for a small place...
Local business has taken part...does the name Glen-Mark ring any bells? You guys are goofy...
Two local men have put a lot of their private money on the line to make Morgantown the City of West Virginia...
so far, It looks pretty good to me...and the best is yet to come..the extension of the city westward past the New Park and Equestrian Center...

Wait until the next phase of the research development initiative takes place. The Research Park is on line, and the impetus will now be on developing research. In fact, it is the new President's first priority. They anticipate 2,000 new jobs from the next phase, and they will literally be across the street from Suncrest. They'll be good paying jobs too, so my hunch is you might see some upscale development.
You just know with the wacks controlling the Government, there will be a huge emphasis on clean energy initiatives. WVU is ideally situated to take a prominent role, and a collaboration with Pitt and Carnegie Mellon is already established for the purpose.

It's even bigger than you imagine..and that money?
Will be distributed from Pennsi banks...banks that have fiscal oversite and clean BoD's...thank RCB for that one too...
5 phases total with new buildings..new parking garages and ....and....new football stadium on the west side of town...
Mon General, as the largest county facility, will increase their Public Health Welfare load to free up the Ruby Complex for a lot of that 'research work...Mon General is getting ready for their next phase too.
This project was put in motion over 10 years ago and has absolutely nothing to do with the Obama Stimulus money. Our share of that money was, in reality, insignificant...a little road paving that would have been done anyway.
