Can anyone tell me more about Ravenswood
I have been looking for a place for my family to relocate to for a while and have always liked the pics of Ravenswood. I know that it sits on the river, has a very nice mayor (answered a few emails about the town), and sits near the outdoors. Are there apartments in the town? Is it a nice place to raise a family? What I hear from the people that live there is that there is no night life, have to go to Ohio for fun, etc. Well, no nightlife is just fine with me, if you have hiking trails you have all the entertainment we need, etc. My only real concern is medical care, I can't see that they have a hospital or anything. What do people do without a hospital?

Jackson General Hospital is about 10 minutes from Ravenswood VIA I-77 to Ripley. No nice resturants there but it's only about 35 minutes to either Parkersburg or Charleston, again VIA I-77. Pretty quiet little town with most of the nicer neighborhoods being on the west side of RT-68 on the North side of town. Only two traffic signals on Main Street...traffic is never a problem. Not much going on there.....The aluminum plant that provided the majority of the income for the area is rapidly decreasing production...closed the Reduction end and laying off a lot of workers in the Hot Roll, Cold Roll and Finishing Departments. There's a nice little brick home for sale in Millwood, with an in ground pool, about 9 miles South of Ravenswood for $120,000.

Ravenswood has some nicer homes in the north side of town like mentioned earlier. A lot of folks prefer to live in the country, just outside of Ravenswood and Ripley. Communities such as Evans, Cottageville, Millwood, Sandyville, Fairplain, and Kenna are nice little bedroom communities with easy access to I-77

I just recently moved out of the area for a job opportunity. Me and my family lived in a small town called Letart which is about 10 miles south of Ravenswood on route 2. Letart is a small quiet rural neighborhood. If you pulled out of my drive way, you could go three different directions and be a three different Walmarts in about 15 minutes.
Letart is centally located to Point Pleasant, Ripley and Ravenswood. Also Holzer Clinic/Medical Center is close by in Galipolis, OH.
If you are looking to relocate, my house in Letart is currently for sale and I am offering to pay closing costs for the buyer.
If you need any further information let me know.
