He laughed..."Not Now...Not with Obama...We don't know how this will shake out...Our strategy is to pay down our debt load and get ready for the increase...It's coming and It's going to be bad."
As for the future, we are looking at water generation...new techiques and a cheaper solution if we can get the permits.."
Was very enlightening...

Who is this COO? I'd like to call him up and ask him if that stuff is true. I think you are lying.

I don't think he is lying - esp after reading articles like the following.
Things are certainly not like they are made to appear.
What's sad is that so many I talk to are FOR Cap & Trade because they want to save the environment. I think those are, in many ways, wonderful sentiments.
However, it is sad because they are being sold a bag of doggie-doodoo.
I know the world has gone tipsy-turvey when I use sites such as Friends of Earth, Rolling Stone, and Huffington Post for sources, BUT.... read it and weep............ (hopefully the entire Rolling Stone article will soon be online - it was in the mag which was just on the newsstand - it is absolutely stunning in it's info on Goldman Sachs' involvement in the Cap & Trade bill).
Rolling Stones article about Goldman Sachs involvment in the Cap & Trade bill. Just a snippet of the article:

A growing number of analysts are expressing concerns about the emergence of a new financial climate lobby and the potential for gaming in a new U.S. carbon market. A recent report by Friends of Earth (FOE), "Subprime Carbon," argued that cap and trade proposals like ACES could create a system with similar financial and political interests to the housing market bubble. Just as financial practices during the housing bubble caused deteriorating standards in mortgages, cap and trade could create "subprime" carbon offsets -- offsets that do not represent actual emission reductions and carbon derivatives based on future carbon reductions with high risk of not being fulfilled. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/teryn-...ea_b_227894.ht[/SIZE]

Despite these risks (or perhaps because of them), a carbon derivatives market has the potential to generate huge profits. The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission estimates that the cap-and-trade market could grow to $2 trillion in five years. A market this size means that Wall Street has a major stake in the cap-and-trade policy that emerges from Congress. Sens. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Olympia Snow (RINO-ME) have introduced a bill to make the Commodity Futures Trading Commission the sole regulator of the carbon market created by cap-and-trade legislation. ..........So does this mean that freebooting Goldman Sachs could be the de facto regulator of the carbon market? Consider that: ....... http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/12731

IveHadEnough:
Why would I compromise a friendship that has been in process for over 15 years?
I move in a circle of honest, trusted people and their confidence is of great value to me...if you want to get to know them, go to their offices.
There is a reason for this re-distribution of wealth...It's global, frightening...and certainly criminal.
A new player(s) is being groomed to take the place of the USA and our money is being drained away to help them as we idly watch... China and India are the places for investment.
I was thinking of a word that describes the blather that comes from certain postings...
from my grandmother, the word is 'Clap-Trap.
If she were alive she might put the word Liberal in front of it...Liberal Clap-Trap.

Wait, so, a COO of the "local power company" is saying these things, and we are supposed to just take your word for it?
That is just more evidence of you lying. I mean, if it's true, what he's saying, he should be telling the newspapers about it, instead of keeping it hid between you and your little cohorts.

First of all, you do not have to take my word for anything. I present information to all liberally. It's a sharing of truthful facts and my conversation this week was a statement of those facts.
Business managers are in those positions to make workable and profitable descisions...sometimes governments place hinderances on those businesses and it is their jobs to jump over or run around certain hurdles...that is being done by my friend and I compliment him in his efforts to keep his company solvent.
After a while, as a person lives through these 'bust cycles, it becomes a challenge to conquer the beast that faces/impeds your purpose. We have these challenges in our lives, in our homes and some of us face these obstacles in our businesses..
In business, the weak and those who cannot or will not adapt go under...it is a test of intelligence, wills and information gathering that can form a strategic plan for survival...
This philosophy may be a little beyond your comprehension or experience...
Business is in business to be profitable...It requires great skill to be successful and it's reward is a greater slice of wealth...
In a way its a contest to gain that wealth...those I have met, who get to the end honestly and win the prize, have been the most gracious, giving and socially acceptable people I have ever met...and they do not reside in certain boundraies...they exist in several countries and speak several languages, have different skin colors and belong to different religions...
You are showing your ignorance by calling me a liar..I do not have any 'little cohorts and the newpapers are fed their news from their management sources, they are not interested in writing 'truth so much any more.

Once they call me a racist, liar, etc., I put them on my ignore list.
It's unfortunate, some people are perverted by their intelligence, using it for malice, and this sniper demonstrates that characteristic . . or simply has no experience in the real world outside of the make-believe place it inhabits to demonstrate such poor manners.
The defense for libel (and slander), is truth. For the suggestion box, if you know somebody here, i.e., a moderator, tell them, and then ban the sniper's IP address.

Thanks for the links . .
It's heart wrenching to see so much corruption. Haven't even touched on there are at least 1,000 lobbyists involved with this fiasco. Say it out loud if it doesn't register, one thousand lobbyists. And you're right, like others I'm not against it beccause it's environment, I'm against it because it's a ruse, it's profiteering . . and the heavy-handed selling of it is right up up there with the snake-oil salesmen who make money in the name of God.
You're a brave soul I've tried, and can't stomach the propaganda of Huffington Post. Call it what it is, the Obama channel.
The data scrubbing on the net regarding Obama has been documented, and this is what we can expect, blantant censorship and information squash so typical of totalitarians, and with the Cyber Security Act (courtesy of a Senator in this state), Information Czar, etc., you are correct in your other thread, the occupant of the White House will have the ability the shut off the internet at will . . absolute control of the last venue for fact-finding.

Lots of blah blah blah.
Still no specifics.
I'm noticing this pattern in most of your posts.

LOL. And you talk in your very next post about how obama is going to do all this censorship stuff and shut down the internet. Yet, that's the exact recourse you are advocating here?
This is too easy.
