Looking for rental Elkins,WV
Hey All
I'm moving back to WV and am looking for a house/apt rental in Elkins or Belington, yes weird range, but I need to be close to parents.
Seeking rent 700 and under, need non-satellite internet, and no oil heat. One cat. Non-drinker,non-smoker,yard work is good by me year round (ie snow removal, grass, garden)
I'm quiet and like my space to be too, so no major roads like davis avenue, wilson street or 5 lane!
thanks for any help at all..hard finding something long distance!
Linda

Linda,
We just moved to Elkins. Have you checked the InterMountain Web site? It has some listings, mostly apartments, but at least you could get here and then find something better. We had a terrible time finding a rental with a pet. Anyway, send me a PM if you want and I will keep an eye out for rental signs when we are out and about. I'll ask around, too. Another random thought, when we were looking at houses to buy, there were so many that were vacant. Maybe you could call around to some of the realtors and ask if any of the vacant house owners would be willing to rent short term?

The pet thing is difficult to work out. Believe me I know how that goes down here in Huntington too. My parents have some rental property and we're huge animal lovers so of course we allow pets as long as you clean up after them, and keep them in good health. Unfortunately they are all occupied at the moment. But if something becomes available I will let you know. The idea of asking the realtors if any of the sellers would be willing to rent is a good idea. Keep rent to own an option too. Have you looked in the areas just south of Elkins? Like Beverly, or Dailey? Bowden too is a great place to live, right in the mountains and just minutes from Elkins.

No problem guys! I'm glad you're loving Elkins. I'm sure it loves you. Are you right in Elkins or somewhere outside? Is it completely different from what you're used to or where expecting?

GHO- We are right in Elkins. Well, actually, right now we are at a campground, but the house we are buying is in the city proper. We will look for land later, once we get settled and get to know the area. Elkins is totally different than what we are used to, and we love it! It is about as big of a town as we really wanted, and it is perfect. The hospital seems good to work at, and there is enough for us to do here, but the town size is perfect. As far as what we were expecting, so far our expectations have been completely exceeded. Thanks again!

hey meganak i think i know you. you found a house congrats. Rentals are very hard to find in elkins. I would get someone to check local buletin boards for you. I'll let you know next time I see something. P.S. I am a realtor.

Thanks Debby! We are hoping for two more weeks until we close- but I am getting VERY tired of camping. <sigh>.
