You are a sheeple - how dare you speak out !!!!!!!
At Jay's health care/insurance forum in Chas yesterday - he was surrounded by like-minded people and supporters. Entry to the main area was by invitation only (btw, AARP was one of the organizers of this event) - they did allow some non-invited to join the additional supporters in the overflow area.
However, there was no opportunity for direct questioning or follow-up of a question. Also, they took pictures and video of the crowd (I know, it was just for the scrapbook). The event was tightly controlled with no opportunity for "adverse" exchange or challenge.
Made me wonder - if these politician's are always surrounded by "yes" men, fans, and supporters, perhaps they are soooo far removed from the average citizen that they really do believe it is just a small group of discontents who are outraged and concerned over govt actions.
What I don't understand:
Millions of people vote for the next American Idol, what food the Have-Nots will get on Big Brother, who will win So You Think You Can Dance, etc........
so, why can we not have a system where we can tell our Fed reps how we want them to vote on an issue?
It wouldn't be their "official" vote, but then they could see how we really feel. One call per phone, or computer, or soc sec number or something!
Don't even do it for all issues, but do it for the Health Care, Cap & Trade, and other vital issues sure to ensue.
