This is a thread dedicated to my home town here in West Virginia.
North of Charleston, on US 119, is a small town named Clendenin. this town started over 100 years ago, but is still kicking. With a population of less than 2 grand, and an area population less than 6 grand, it is quiet and small.
but this town used to be more. home of major industries like coal, gas, timber, oil, and other minerals. It was a boom town!!! with even its own taxi service. department stores, banks, restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, and the start of Union Carbide.
Two things hurt this wonderful town. I-79 past right by clendenin 2 miles away, when 119 used to be the only way north in WV. The stop of traffic stoped the economy. and second the climate. Not the weather, but the attitude of the people. The rich at heart town, became faint!
Now it is up to the younger generation to fix it.
the idea is simple! educate the kids so the can be prosperous!
if anyone has a suggestion to help pleace inform.
thank You for taking the time
