A VERY good anti-oxident is Arizona Green Tea...has honey and ginseng...and is delicious warm or cold.
When it goes down and you feel the invigoration, you will know it's something you need. No other brand works as well...get the real stuff. Heat with some lemon or orange slices in it if you feel inclined....(whole cloves is another old medicine, if you can find them)
AGT is about $3.00 a gallon at the Family Dollar Store...
I've been taking 1000 mg of Golden Seal Root this fall...about once a week...so far, everything is copasetic...
It's an old witches remedy for boosting the immune system...

Golden Seal is great. We dig our own root here on the farm. We dry it and grind it up in an old coffee grinder. It does work wonders.
Thanks for the Arizona Green Tea suggestion. I haven't tried it. Will pick some up tomorrow!

Well I've had my share of ramps and buckwheat this year. I'm hoping that'll ward off the nasties, lol.
I still stink like ramps, BTW.

I'll see what I can find tomorrow. The kids might be felling well enough to take up hike out to the back 40.
There is a guy farther south...can't remember which county, that sells fresh root on ebay. I've bought from him before and it's as potent as what we dig here.
Last year I transplanted some closer to the house and so far it's doing great! To young to dig though, unless it was an emergency.
You should try getting some live root and planting it if you have a favorible spot for it!

I've had a wonderful crop of horse raddish this year...time to dig it up and give it a grind.
I think it might help as a sinus-cold remedy...ha ha. Perhaps the remedy is in our minds too...

Seven degrees of Swine Flu?
Much like the game "The Seven Degrees Of Kevin Bacon", only we realize how close the Swine Flu is by knowing someone who has it or they have someone they know real well that has it.
I ran into someone this afternoon that I have [or rather had] an appointment with this week but she's not going to make it because her son was diagnosed with the H1N1.

My son just got hammered with flu-like symptoms. Came on very fast. Mom's got him at the pediatricians office (at their advice) for a check. 103deg, dizzy, sullen eyes...
Here we go again.
