How is he feeling today? I'm sorry to hear he got it too.
My 6 year old nephew in another state is in the hospital with swine flu. He developed pneumonia. They gave him tamiflu and in 24 hours he was doing much better.

He's still around 103 w/out motrin, but 99 with. They prescribed tamiflu for him as well. He's had two doses thus far. He's a lightweight for his age (62lbs at 10 years) so they were concerned.
But his spirits are really good. He wants to help me lay 3/4 plywood board underlayment today
I'll keep your nephew in my prayers.

Today we had our 3rd die from H1N1 at my hospital. 35 y/o female. Three that I know of are in the ICU on ventilators. All young. A few more admitted into regular beds. I just see the worst of the worst...but if you get H1N1 AND an underlying bacterial pneumonia...it is a very, VERY aggressive dual infection. It takes young, healthy people to within inches of death...if they are lucky...

WVUPharm2007:
How is the connection?
A virus...and a bacteria?
Does the flu virus weaken the person to the extent that a previous condition results in death...if so, this is a weeding out process for the weak, for sure..
Drug use involved?
I ask that because with an addiction everything is put on the back burner to feed the addiction...personal health being one of them.

I've often wondered if the penchant for the Scot's amber is genetic..and I might not be totally Irish afterall...not wanting to run the family line back to more than 1750...leavin well enough alone for the claim....erin go bragh
Thinking that perhaps the Swine Flu has pretty well ran its course...was taking inventory on the airplane...only a few with colds and most traveling were in seemingly 'good health...been two days with the body and not a symptom of anything but
old age..

Hand washing all through the day is a must. Money and door knobs are quite nasty and holds germs. You can't have enough Lysol!
