Exclamation Swine Flu Message Board

Let's keep a record of the Wv Swine Flu Outbreak...timely, needed and perhaps educational.
I'll leave the stats and data mining to you, who post...
My question.
What is the incubation period?
Lately, I've been in groups of people who are hacking and coughing without regard to others.
Seems too early for a real cold season.

My wife and I already had it, it lasts roughly 8 days and I think they say the incubation period is the first 72 hours.

Any relief from teas or soups..citrus? chills?

I was in a meeting last week and that prompted this blog.

Several of the attendees were hacking and sneezing...knowing my turn is soon to come.

I visited an event that brought people from several states. A week later one evening I started feeling feverish, headache, stuffed nose and body aches. Twelve hours later I felt pretty good and then 48 hours later I have developed a runny noze, sneezing and cough. DOn't know if that was a short bout of flu followed by a cold or what. If my cold runs it's usual course it will last a month.

Ginger is a natural exporant(sp?). I'm in Orlando at the moment, and will be stopping by the Chinese market anyway for curry if you want me to grab you some Ginger Tea . . it's a tough mug to finish, like drinking hot ginger ale concentrate, but a day later, you will feel better.

When congestion, etc., sets in, avoid dairy products, as this is metabolized into mucus.

Something is going around, but I don't know what. I've had what I thought was a head cold, but the hacking just won't go away. I felt pretty miserable the first week I had this, but had no fever or aches, just a head and upper chest full of fluid and a general run-down feeling. However, I'm feeling much better now, but still have that nagging cough and tickle

red.ochre...thanks but no thanks...I can get ginger root here and will try some this week...

made me think of the old Sasafras Root...think I'll dig some and get it ready...almost lost in our culture.

Worth a try for old times sake. A great anti-oxidant...perhaps the best.

There was a reason our native americans lived to be 120/125 yrs old...it was diet and good medical care.

Were all going to die sometime. Be it by H1N1, the end of the world in 2012. Or from Giant mushrooms that travel to earth in intergalactic spaceships spying on us.

The best we can do is share information and help one another.

I don't think the HINY flu is a really big deal...flu kills a lot of people every year..just pushes them over the edge when they already have pulmonary conditions....many factors too, over medication, ect.

What everybody is talking about, I think I had last spring...it was bad...took weeks to really recover.

but be on guard and about washing your hands...those germs are on every door, every phone, every keyboard...just cleaning and watching the common things will help a lot...
