NOVAmtneer82 from the tone of your post you are a bit touchy, IMHO. I was in no way implying that you did or did not know your WV history, furthermore how would I know that you are originally from the area based on info from this board?
Summersville has many out door activities, plenty of nice places to eat (not chain type) musical events all most every weekend at the Old Main and other venues. With the new Armory, there is some large event scheduled there at least once a month sometimes more. S’ville is centrally located in the state to allow for travelers to use it as a “base” for day trips to other locations for site seeing. I all most forgot Carnifex Ferry, and the Gauley River is there. Lots of hiking here.

Elkview! no not really
Its just a business place for the Elk River
the best thing its got going for it is the I-79
The only exit with services from Charleston to Flatwoods
Pinch,"Elkview South" on the other hand is very nice.
A nice Bedroom to Charleston, with great neighborhoods and little stores
It is even nicely landscaped. That's why its in my top 10
of course I'm biased too because My Grandfather lives in Pinch.

Long ago, a Miss West Virginia was from Pinch...that's why I'll never forget it.
And another was from Rivesville...never forget that either, as Bert Parks mispronounced the word...
He said...Rivesville....the pronunciation is Reevesville....????

Pinch doesn't have the town vibe
but has nice subdivisions, school, lil league football, and the best Pizza on the Elk River,
Hussons Pizza
it also is growing! at a slow pace
