This is so upsetting!! I loved that place! They say its arson but are still investigating. The co-owner just went to jail for sexually assaulting an employee. She fought him off and got away - good for her!! It may be connected, the fire and him going to jail. In any case, I'm so saddened! I really wanted to take my parents there when they come down to visit.

What a bummer.
Usually go there for ice cream, etc. when we wander over that way.

Hmmm, had not heard the news about the co-owner.

Yokums is owned by my 2nd cousins grandma, surprisingly a high percentage of my family was originally from Seneca Rocks, Pendelton County before they moved to the Elkins area in Randolph County.

So sad, I went to Shepherd with him for a year before he transferred to Fairmont. I later ran into him went we started taking field trips over that way and I thought he owned the caverns and the rental places.

It is a shame that anyone would do such a thing.

The Intermountain is reporting that the Caverns reopened Friday, with relocated ticket sales location, gift shop, etc.
