"the states with the best records were West Virginia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisiana -- these states had no bank failures." A look back at the bank failures of 2009
What's the Muslim mindset behind spending a countries entire bank account on creating big and beautiful real estate..

What few people know is that Dubai has only about 20 years of oil left in the ground. Once the oil runs out, there would be no more Dubai. So, they decided to make it into a destination, not only for the GCC, but the world. They simply went too fast. A couple big issues they're facing are a sewage problem that has closed the beaches at the Burj Al Arab, and weak concrete in all the buildings. Abu Dhabi is the largest state in UAE, comprising 87% of the land. They also have a bunch more oil. That's why Abu Dhabi isn't following Dubai in the tourism buildup. I would go back to Abu Dhabi in a second, it's very family friendly and the people are great- just like WV. I think NYU just opened a campus there as well... Grad school Cody?
* Dubai lines the pockets of politicians in this country (and mainstream media)
* Not only did half of the 9/11 hijackers transit here via Dubai, but $234,500 was wired to them via Dubai banks.
Overlapping, had our immigration and naturalization laws been enforced, most of them would have been deported. Center for Immigration Studies
* Dubai lines the pockets of organized crime :

As of April 2009, at least $8 billion went to Dubai.
Don't forget, Dick Cheney (as VP) made a visit to Dubai and A/D only months before the announcement that Haliburton was relocating their HQ to Dubai. Fine use of taxpayers $$... and some of it came from WV (just to keep it relavent to the forum
The Jackson County Courthouse wouldn't be the centerpiece of the downtown anymore. It would look nice from the interstate and attract more tourists if it were built on top of the hill in Fairplain, behind The Great Outdoors!
Seems like everybody in Washington got a suitcase full of Dubai cash to me...thanks for the up-tic.
Hope they can market their tourism to the Chinese...because it takes capitalism to create wealth and the surplus from it to travel leasurely...
