No complaints that I heard, however these were guys that rode enduro/dual sport bikes on long trail rides. They were more concerned with the food and beverages than the sheets and linens, lol.
I like the Purple Fiddle, and my wife an I will be seeing some of their shows, but I doubt we will stay there.
3run, LOL we have reservations at CV resort and their rooms are about on par with motel 6, which I can live with as long as it is clean! I think we are going to the PF for new yrs eve and even though we do not drink we are just a wee bit worried about the drive back to our room! Sharing the road with others who do drink, and just wanted some info on that guest house.
I think it would be an experience for you to stay at the PF instead of CV.
I wouldn't mind staying there myself and I really don't think my wife would mind either. Have you ever been to the PF? It's really a good place. It's eclectic in the sense it's a neat blend of artsy/hippie/folksy/mountainish place. Perfect for WV in my opinion.
One of the guys that works there had a few busted up ribs doing a tabletop on his dirt bike, lol.
Okay I just checked their site- you're staying at the house, not the hostel.. GO FOR IT!!! I thought you may be grunging in the hostel, lol.
Oh and last time I was there I had a bowl of fresh homemade chicken soup and a jalapeno turkey wrap- it was the best, freshest wrap I've ever, ever had. It tasted like the veggies were just plucked and washed from a garden
yes we have been there several times, and we love it! no hostel for for me, not even one in WV! LOL I will have to wait till Friday @ 11:00 to call to ck on reservations. Thanks for you help, and oh if you are going to be there on NYE let me know so we can say hi to each other
My wife and I were staying at the lodge at Blackwater this summer and visited the Purple Fiddle and had a great evening. The entertainer was a former contestant on The Biggest Loser. His name was Dan Evans and that night he played with a group called Coal Train. I would return there next time we go the valley. I bought a CD for $5 and it was well worth it.
I highly recommend the Purple Fiddle for the atmosphere and entertainment. What food we ate was very good as well. Can't say that I would stay anywhere with a shared bathroom, today.
