Hi, I am moving to White Plains and am looking for a nice, safe apartment building with either a studio or one bedroom. My price range is $700-1050; I am a single female mainly concerned with safety moreso than nightlife (but being close to center city would be great). Any help would amazing - thank you!!
I used to live in White Plains, up until about three or four years ago, and I checked my old renter's website - they have about four buildings on Lake Street. The lowest price for a studio is 125 Lake Street - which I would not recommend for a single female - and the going rate for a studio apartment is $1,100/month. When I first moved into White Plains, this building was the cheapest I found in the city of White Plains, and I'm sure it probably still is.
For that price range, you're going to have a hard time finding anything.
I am moving to white plains area next month, and looking for accommodation as well. Most of the apartments I have looked at are near downtown and they are really expensive generally in the range of 1300-1700 just for the rent and utilities on top of that. If you come across any apartments please let me know as well.

The best chance of finding rent under $1000 in White Plains is in multi family houses, not apt buildings.... and even that is a maybe.
Craig's list is showing some studios in decent locations, in that price range. (Mostly $950+)
