Hi there,

Can anyone give me a ball park idea as to what utilties, water, cable (any general monthly expenses) would cost for a 2bdrm, 1000 sq. ft condo/co-op? I'm aware that some of this may or may not be included in a monthly maintenance or common charge. I just want to get a general idea as to what this would cost on its own.

Any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated!

you didn't include a town or anything so it's a pretty vague question. Here is my guess at the average costs in lower westchester.

cable "triple play" $130/month
condo "common charges" = 1200/month
coop "common charges" 1000/month
water = free
heat = free
electricity = 150/month

My apologies...I should have been more specific...I'm looking at northern Westchester (Peekskill, Yorktown Heights/ Croton area)/lower Putnam (Brewster/Carmel area).

I think these numbers are high.
This is about what we pay for a 1800 sf detached single family house(with an inground pool) and 4 people.
Cable/internet/phone - $140. mo.
water - avg $75. every 3 months
heat - $900 for oil last winter
electric - winter - $70. month, summer(ac, pool filter etc) - $170. month

Same size SF house with no pool and three people two of whom leave every light on all the time.

NYSEG = New York State Electric & Gas.... a utility company like ConEd. Parts of northern westchester are serviced by NYSEG as well as most(or maybe all) of Putnam county.

Does anyone have updates on their monthly bill averages for a single family home? 6 years later what do your costs look like? Water, oil, electric, cable/Internet and phone? Summer and Winter.
