I will be moving to Dobbs Ferry (living near Ashford Avenue somewhat near Saw Mill Parkway) and wanted to know how best to get to NYC. Which bus takes me directly to the train, and also, is there a bus that could take me directly from Dobbs Ferry to downtown NYC? And one more question, is there a waitlist for residents of Dobbs Ferry to buy a parking permit for the train? Thanks so much!

The Westchester Bus Map is available here:

According to the map, the BL-5 stops along Saw Mill River Road, and brings you to Yonkers, where you can take the Metro-North or BxM3 bus to Manhattan.

The BL-1C and BL-6 bring you to the Dobbs Ferry Metro-North station. as does the BL-66.

You also have the BL-34, which goes to the Hartsdale station on the Herlem Line, as well as the BL-66, which goes to the Scarsdale station.

Personally, I think going to Yonkers gives you more options.
