We went to a children's portrait studio for my first son, but that was in NC and I don't know of any around here. My son is 2 months old so I don't think I can just get the pictures anywhere. Can anyone recommend a place? Thanks!
Call around to some of the local drugstores that still process photos instore. Around here Walgreens, and I believe Walmart and Rite Aid, do passport photos.
Babies are much more difficult to do, so I'd definitely try to find someone that has had some experience taking pictures of infants. I've seen them taken sitting in a parents lap while the parent is wearing white clothing or had a white sheet draped over them, and I've seen babies lain down on a white background such as a poster board or sheet to have their pictures taken for passports.
Many Post Offices both process your PP application and take the pictures.
Oh, I realize that. I just don't want to bother if they have no experience taking infant photos. I thought it might be easier to go to a kid's portrait place and was wondering if anyone knows of one. Or, if anyone has had their infant's passport photos taken somewhere, I would love to know where it is. Thanks!
I do it at the post office for myself and my family, including when my kids were infants . It's not a portrait, it's a passport photo. It's not complicated.
I put my baby (4 months old at the time) on a mattress with a white cover and took several photos of her, took them to CVS and printed out the best one. They were accepted and we went on our first vacation as a family : )
But for less hassle go to the post office, and they'll take the photos.
I agree that going to the post office is you best bet if all you want is just passport photos. I had mine done a few months afo and it cost $15 for 2 photos and took less than 5 minutes. It might take longer for an infant though.
On the USPS website it says that for minors applying, BOTH parents need to be present. Does anyone know if its possible for one parent to provide written consent, etc?

They've become very strict about this lately so your best bet is to contact the post office and see the State Department's web site for questions like this.
