I'm considering a move to Croton-on Hudson and will be commuting to Tarrytown. What's the realistic commuting time on Rt. 9? How congested is it? it's possible that i could take the metro north to Tarrytown, does anyone know how I could get to Kraft from there?, it's a 30 minute walk UGH thanks!

According to Google Maps, Kraft Foods is at 555 South Broadway in Tarrytown. Does that sound correct?

If so, what you would have to do to commute by public transit is take the Metro-North to Tarrytown and then take the 1T bus to your job. Unfortunately, the 1T runs very infrequently (every hour), so you'll have to time yourself if you want to take public transit.

You also have the backup option of taking the 13 to the 1W if you miss the 1T, but those routes are also pretty infrequent.

Here is a map of the Westchester Bee-Line Bus system: http://transportation.westchestergov.com/images/stories/pdfs/beelinesystemmap.pdf (broken link)

Here is the 1T/1W schedule: http://transportation.westchestergov..._timetable.pdf

Here is the 13 schedule

In sum, you're probably better off driving. If your job was right by the Tarrytown rail station, it would be a different story.

It all depends on what time you need to start your day.
