I am moving to Croton in the next few weeks and after doing some research, I have determined that my only option for cable TV is either DirecTV or Cablevision. It seems that I can get Fios internet and phone, but I cannot get Fios TV. After hearing horror stories about Cablevision and being disappointed with the channel line-up, I think that DirecTV might be a better option for me. My question: when there is bad weather (ice, snow, heavy rain/winds), will I lose reception or have disrupted service? Are there any other options I am missing?

Not sure about that but I was just curious if you have cell coverage up there? I looked at something and was unable to use my cell phone.

Direct TV: We have it. Largely because our experience with cablevision in the city was so terrible. It does indeed go out in some bad weather, but that is pretty infrequent. I can't actually remember the last time it happened, but I would guess it is about twice a year. Our neighbor has Fios and loves it and we were thinking about switching over. But instead we just got an inexpensive blueray player with wifi and now we mostly stream TV and movies anyway. For all I know Direct TV wasn't working in the last storm and I was happily watching something off of netflix and didn't even know.

Cell Phones: Parts of Croton used to be a serious black hole for verizon, but now there is a new tower at the train station. I have no problem with my AT&T service anywhere in the area.
