Scarsdale is better. My father lived in Greenwich for 25 years I live and I am raising my family in Scarsdale because of the schools and the commute to NYC. Honestly, it has a jewish and asian population but it has EVERYTHING else. I met great people here and find that flashing "jones" are a percetage but not the majority. Since the headfund BOOM greenwich is WAY flashier.

Right now you can do better financially in Greenwich than Scarsdale because of the very low interest rates. Just bought a house in Greenwich for $2,000 less a month than the comparable house in Scarsdale would cost. You need to look carefully, but the real estate market in Greenwich is so depressed that you can save a lot for the same house by buying in Greenwich.

Same goes for rentals. Much better deals in Greenwich than Scarsdale school homes.

You might be looking at a different price point, but in the $1M-ish range, Greenwich was easily 30% or more than a comparable property in Westchester one year ago. Not even close...and there was also absolutely no inventory to be had.

Granted, I'd take people in Greenwich over Scarsdale ANY day, but that is another post altogether!
