Hi Nancy,

My wife and I grew up in Yorktown and have seen many restaurants come and go. Guadio's is the most visible italian restaurant in town. We've been there a couple times and liked it.

There's a new Italian restuarant on Underhill avenue, across from the Town Hall. Can't think of the name right now, but my dentist told me all about it, and he's a regular there. There's also Piatto's in the Triangle Shopping Center.

In Mahopac, there's Four Brothers, right on the lake. I've never been there, so I can't say much about it though.

One of our favorite restaurants in that area is Peter Pratt's Inn. It's not necessarily Italian though. It's a tucked away country house in a historic part of Yorktown. A nearby house was visited by George Washington during the days of Revolution. The food is excellent, and the owner John is very passionate about the family business. In the summer they do buffet style BBQ's on wednesdays in the back yard. Great times and food to be had there!

The new Italian on Underhill is called Don Tomasso's. It's run by the family that owns Grappolo Locanda in Chappaqua. We went once and it was good, nicely done classics with some interesting dishes. The place itself is very pleasant.

I notice this restaurant because the parking lot is always crowed, the food should be good. I moved in Jefferson Valley just 4 years ago and don't really have chances to try all restaurants in Yorktown. We usually go to eat out around Route 6. My kids love Italian the most.

Have a nice day. thanks again
