I live in Cortlandt Manor and the local fish market just closed down here on rte 6. I'm surrounded by supermarkets - Shop and Stop, A&P, Shopright, yet none of them carry good quality freshly cut fish. My only alternative right now is to drive into Yorktown and buy at Turcos, which will take around 15-20 mins each way during rush hour.
Upper Westchester is pretty big, but it includes Mt Kisco and Conte's Fish Mkt is the local source. It would be crazy to go there from Cortland Manor. Regardless, it's excellent. They cater to fussy Bedford types and NYC transplants.
Conte's in Mount Kisco is another good spot for fish, as they get their selections daily from the Fulton Fish Market. For a grocery store, Whole Foods generally has decent fish selections, and good quality, though the prices are a bit more in line with a fish market than a grocery store.

Yes...I agree. A&P works to some degree, although Turcos looks after their seafood stock and cleans pretty much everything every hour. Turcos has more pride in their services.
