Commute times to White Plains
Thinking of possible relocation - job in WP. What Westchester towns/villages/etc are within a 30 minute commute either driving (including rush hour traffic) or on a train?
How far into northern WC could one live? Pleasantville? Mount Kisco? Bedford? Could you get from Irvington or other river towns into WP during rush hour, or would it take longer?
And while not Westchester specific - is anything in Fairfield or Rockland county possible, or would it take way too long?
Thanks for your help!

mt kisco is within 30. I think Bedford would be too. Would not recommend Rockland as there would be traffic during rush hour. Fairfield might be okay since it is against traffic, but not familiar with that commute.
Most river towns would be fine.

Fairfield might be ok but it will not be against traffic. The traffic in CT is coming towards NY and it is awful.
WP is pretty centrally located and anywhere in Westchester would be with =in 30 minutes driving. I think more towns outside of Westchester would qualify if you took metro north.

Look at Putnam county (north of Westchester) for lower rent/taxes. The MTA Harlem line stops at South East/Brewster and there are 2 train stations in WP. About 40 min ride.
Rockland is not a good option. Faifield is a better choice, but areas around Greenwich are quite expensive.
Other considerations depend on your personal situation: schools and playgrounds for children, or if single bars and clubs.

Mt Kisco would make a good commute, WP isn't bad at all either. I'd say look into North White Plains/Valhalla or Pleasantville if your looking for something close/convenient.
