Hello, I am looking for an old colonial home 375-400 in a town that is commutable to tarrytown perferably by train, and is also within one hr from nyc if possible. I love quaint towns too!! THanks!

Unfortunately, for that price range, you're gonna end up in a basement closet somewhere if ya wanna live within an hour of the city. Try craigslist. Look at towns in Jersey and Connecticut. It may be a little far from the city, but it's your best hope.

You might want to consider Orange County, New York. It's a great place for the price range and kind of home you are looking for. We like to believe that we also have good values and are down to earth.
