Default Rye moms?

Just moved to Rye and noticed that most women here are stay at home moms/part-time brokers keeping busy with their kids and just socializing with friends. Any other viewpoint?

I don't live in Rye, so I can't comment on that community specifically - but I guess my question back to you is how are you coming to that conclusion? Because by default, if you're a working mom, you're probably not around much during the week so are less visible in the community than the SAHMs.

Nope, that pretty much sums up life in most of the more affluent towns. It seems that the majority of moms are SAHMs...at least when they are young since good, affordable, extended day care seems to be an anomaly in this area. We have some working moms in our area, but even then it does seem like they work at home or very part time. I don't live in Rye but spend a good amount of time there and don't find it much different than my town.

Do you not like SAHMs, or are you just at a loss how to meet people? If the second, Rye has a newcomers club, the YMCA and lots of other community options. Volunteering and kids is how you meet people in this area.
