Default westchester resource for looking up former sale prices?

hello.. my sister is looking for homes in fairfield CT and has a county assessor's website where she can plug in the address of a home she is interested in, and see the sale prices for that home in history. This is helpful esp in times of home flipping.. when you are considering making an offer. Does anyone know of such an online resource for westchester.. or individual towns?

Go to Trulia - Real Estate, Homes For Sale, Sold Properties, Real Estate Maps TYpe in an town/city and then pick a house. After you have chosen a house it will show you what other houses in the area sold for in the previous weeks and months.

You can also just type in an exact address and it may give you what it sold for previously, if that sale was within the past couple of years.

Also try zillow.com (the estimated values tend to be about 200K under reality, but they often list sale history). Also try propertyshark.com.

mprojekt - some of those sites are useful but may take up to 4 months to show current data so it will not help you if you are looking for a price on a home that just sold the other day. A Realtor can help you with that or just go to the town hall and look them up yourself. If you need any help, shoot me an email: Mike@MikeTrinch.com

In Connecticut there are no county assesors. Counties only exist as a boundary but there is not a government level for them. Could your sister be looking at the town assessor's web site? I would be interested in knowing what site she is using in Fairfield. Thanks, Jay
