We are looking at homes in the Harrison, Hartsdale, White Plains, Valhalla and Croton areas, and are wondering if it's even possible to park at or near the Metro North stations in these towns in order to commute to Manhattan daily. Our commute is not early (9am), so we wouldn't be lucky enough to secure a daily meter as I understand that those go quickly in the early morning.
Thank you for your help!
I can only speak to Croton, but there you won't have a problem. Check the town website, but I don't think there's a wait list for resident parking permits. There might be a wait for non resident permits, but it's probably not that long and there are always spaces in the daily parking area. I often park at about 8:25 and there are still plenty of spots left, so you should be fine at 9:00.
If you can't find parking at White Plains then I doubt you will find it anywhere. They built a huge 6-7 story parking garage right next to the train station and from what I hear, there is always space available. May be not a monthly spot but definitely a daily one.
If you live in Valhalla or anywhere in the Town of Mt. Pleasant you can buy a permit for 200 bucks a year or so that lets you park at the Valhalla train station, which never fills up.
