Hello all
Does anyone has any idea of where to find the sale prices (actual price paid) of co-ops in the Westchester area, most interested in White Plains? They are not generally published, the Journal News only publishes houses and condos. I just moved out of WP to Fairfield, CT but would love to come back at some point. While I hate co-ops, my love for WP is much bigger! I will buy another ugly complicated-pain inflicting co-op as a necessary torture just to live there if prices become right.

You should be able to get the sales through your real estate broker. Politely insist that you want to see the MLS sale sheets in the buildings you are looking at and nearby buildings. If the broker refuses, find another broker.

Go to Trulia - Real Estate, Homes For Sale, Sold Properties, Real Estate Maps type in what you are looking for and click on a current co-op for sale. THen click on "more details" once that box popus up. After that it should show you other places in the area that have soldin the recent past.

Thank you both for your reply.
Agents in WP are a bit resilient to share purchase prices but I will make a point to get it when I am ready to hire an agent. My agent in CT shared this information without me even asking. This was important because It helped me to decide how low of an offer to make. Prices in Fairfield, CT just fell a lot so you can make all sort of crazy offers, without offering less of what the owner paid of course. I still have to look at it some more but the Trulia website looks promising. I hope I can go back home sooner than later.
