I am looking for a new Pediatrician for my daughter that is willing to work with me on a customized vaccine schedule in Putnam County. One that also preferably takes my insurance b/c cost is a major issue.

I am not happy with our current Pediatrician; he is in Mount Kisco; he is trying to force me to vaccinate my child by bullying me with all kinds of policies & compliance rules. He also leaves the exam room door open, which I don't like. When I go to the doctor, I like the door to the doctor's office & exam rooms closed @ all times. I don't recommend that anyone who is in my similar position go to this doctor.

My daughter is almost 17 months old & he has known my wishes since my daughter was born. The problem I'm having with him specifically is for the Chicken Pox & MMR vaccines. I want to delay both until after my daughter is 3 years old. I also spread the vaccines out over a few weeks or a month, which I will continue to do. He keeps telling that she can't go to Daycare without them. I keep insisting to him, she won't be going to Daycare, one of his favorite arguments.

I've never had the Chicken Pox & I am immune to it. I've been tested for it numerous times & they've all come back with the same result - immune. Based on that, since my husband had it as a child - there is a 50% chance that my daughter is also immune & doesn't need the Chicken Pox vaccine. In that case, I'm not going to give her the Chicken Pox vaccine. This doctor refuses to do the blood test, even though it's covered by insurance! I'm not giving it to her until I have a copy of the results & after her 3rd birthday. Similarly with MMR, not getting it before her 3rd birthday. I've spoken to my insurance company about this matter re: the vaccine schedule numerous times & I've always been told it's my decision & as long as she has all her vaccines before she goes to school, it was fine.

Does anyone have or know of a vaccine flexible Pediatrician in Southern Putnam County?
I'd be willing to travel to the Northern Northern part of Westchester.

Someone once posted that Marc Childs from the MKMG was vaccine flexible. I was thinking of trying him.

Any information anyone has would really help! Thanks!

New York allows a religious exemption, but you have to word it just right.

Try the Briarcliff ofice of the MKMG. They are very open minded. I do not know for sure because I disagree with your positions on vaccines, so I have never asked them, but they (there are 4 doctors in the office) are very open minded and want parents involved in care. Mathew Doogan there is my favorite. He is a very good doctor IMO. Good luck. A lot of doctors simply will not want to work with a patient who will not follow the AMA on vaccines. It must be difficult for you. All the best.

Dr Larry Baskind of RiverTown pediatrics in Croton on Hudson is great.
He's been promoting homeopathic and natural medicine in pediatrics for over 40 yrs. He supports flexible / selective vaccination. I found him after researching this forum, actually and we've been very happy with him.
