Hi everyone,

I'm looking for recommendations for good garden centers / plant nurseries in Westchester, preferably within a half hour drive of Scarsdale/Hartsdale area.

(I've already been to the Home Depot near Tarrytown, which is fine as far as it goes.)
Checked out Yelp already, recommendations on there are few and far between.

Thanks in advance..!

There's Rosedale, just north of the Home Depot in Hawthorne

I like Tony's in Larchmont, and the place immediately next door also which has the huge old Swiss chalet type house (Larchmont Nurseries perhaps?) Both on the Boston Post rd. between Larchmont and NR.

Yes, Rosedale. The Pound Ridge Nursery is at the top of the heap IMO. Expensive, but if you want specialty stuff or more exotic shrubs, trees or perennials it's the place to go. Not worth it just for flats of impatiens or a pot of geraniums.

Jumping in from the LI forum and OT. Anyone remember Handleman's Garden Center in North White Plains? Fond memories going there with my Dad growing up.

Thanks guys,

I checked out Rosedale. They haven't got much stock in yet but I guess Spring has only just arrived so I'll check back later in the season.

The Larchmont places look nice too from what I can see online. I'll go over there next week.

I'll give Home Depot their due though, they are very well stocked for a relatively small garden center. I've already planted up my veggie beds from there. Spring has finally arrived!
