Default Relocating to Westchester - need help

Hello, We will be relocating to westchester in the next 3 months from overseas. Ideally, I'd like 30-40min or less commute into Manhattan, 3 bd house and a (small) garden for 2500-3000 mo with decent schools. We prefer rural to city, and quiet/country to shopping/noise.
Is this achievable in Westchester?

Hi Tortoise,

I have heard the town of Somers is nice. It would be about an hour of NYC by train. You should check it virtually...might be able to get a house there for $3000/month.

Here is the town's website:
Town of Somers, New York, Cradle of the American Circus--Home Page

If you decide to consider it, check Houlihan Lawrence Real Estate or REALTOR.com - Real Estate Listings & Homes For Sale to see rental properties, get ideas.

There are other great towns in Westchester as well but this is the one that comes to mind right now as kind of rural.

Best luck,

Are you talking rent or mortgage when you say $2,500 -$3,000?

Maybe checkout a place like Eastchester? Good schools, suburban area, train to Grand Central Station is about 35 minutes. I think you should be able to rent something in your price range.
