Haven't heard anything about the retail at 55 bank yet...though when they pitched it, I think they said it would be neighborhood convenience (deli, dry cleaner, etc) and not "destination" retail that anyone would be too excited about. Seems like too nice a spot for a deli though, so we'll see.

Re the WP mall's interior courtyard, the developer poo-pooed all over a similar idea for the WP Pavilion development saying that interior courtyards are ghost towns, really hard to lease, etc. So I guess we'll see about this too.

On a separate note, here's another one.... New owner plans luxury apartments at White Plains AT&T building | Westfair Communications

Also...in that same rendering of Hamilton Ave where they got the direction wrong, did you see that they have it as a 2-way street separated by a planting bed. The mayor has talked before about turning some of the one-ways in to 2 ways, and if they've been talking about this project for a year, then it seems likely that this isn't a mistake in the drawing. I don't know how I fell about this. Seems to me that traffic (generally) flows pretty well through White Plains, and this is a strength that you wouldn't want to mess with this.

The annual state-of-the-union presentation was reviewed at the end of this week's Planning Board meeting. They stated that projects that are underway or approved would add 4000 new units if they were all built. Figure 4000 units = 6000 people and current WP population = 60,000 so potential 10% increase in the next 5-7 years. This doesn't include the Transit District or other big projects that are looming but not yet approved. Thought it was interesting to see the aggregate number.
