Talking New Westchester Home.....owner

We finally closed on the apartment. Now I'm oficially transitioning from LI to Westchester.

With good news comes bad news. The previous owner had wall-to-wall carpet, which had to be replaced.

As soon as I pulled the old carpet out, to my surprise i found hardwood floors in ALL rooms (i previously thought it was only in the living room, which I was thinking in refinishing anyways). The bad news? There's paint all over the floor in all other rooms. Apparently, somebody in the past damaged the hardwood floors while painting. I assume they did that knowing that a carpet would cover the mess up.

So now I'll have to wait a few more weeks 'til the hardwood floors are refinished before I move-in.

So thanks to many of you who gave me advice and guidance as I was looking for a place in Westchester.

This is a great site!!!!

Big time congratulations Ed!!!!
You are going to love Westchester County.
But why wait several weeks to have the floors refinished?
That should not take that long!

Thanks a lot Ambar371. Also, thanks for your support in previous discussions. We can't wait to finally get out of Long Island and start

To answer your question, the reason why this project on the floors will take that long is because I'm doing it as I can when I get off work during the week and weekends. It's not really hard but messy and dusty. Sanding and cleaning take most of the time.

Thanks!
