I recently did a search for homes in Westchester with certain specific requirements and came up with 76 homes. Then I went back, same search, with taxes under $13000. I came up with 22 Homes.

The taxes in Westchester have gone up a lot in the past few years, and they aren't always fair. In some towns the houses built before 1950 have a much lower tax base.

You can find bargains all over Westchester at this point.

Check out Realtor.com, that has a list of everthing.

All the best!

Thumbs down Port Chester Home - DON'T DO IT!!

Don't do it. I live in Port CHester and pay $11,000 for school taxes and that is with the Star Rebate. The schools are full of anchor children who do not know a stitch of English. Our taxes are out of control. We pay a total of $25,000 in taxes for a crap school system and a crap town. We are now stuck here because there is no way that we would get the market value of our house. When my daughter starts school she will NOT be stepping foot in this school district. Which means not only do I have to pay for those anchor children whose parents do NOT pay into the school taxes but for her private education because I actually want my child to learn something. Don't do it!!
