I need to buy a sectional. I moved from Texas where many furniture stores had the type of furniture I would never buy. So I don't want the Thomasvilles or Lazy boy stores like that. I'm sure this being NY there are some amazing stores out there with cool pieces that don't break the bank. Don't get me wrong I'm not looking for Bo Concept prices or looks but somewhere where I can find a cool sectional and a few tables.

Anywhere you'd recommend?

Ikea is awesome, but you have to drive to Long Island or Rockland (I believe) to get to one.
I'm a big fan of Gothic Cabinet Craft, but I'm not sure they do sofas. Tables definitely. They have a store in Yonkers and one in Elmsford.

I like Ikea too, but while you're at it check out Bob's. Yeah, I know, it has a bit of a low rent reputation, so my wife and I were very pleased when we found an excellent television stand/entertainment system. And they deliver, on time with no nonsense.

If you really want to blow your mind and your budget drive up to Norwalk CT and check out the Lillian August Design Center. Leave your credit cards locked in the car. They also have a discount store in the Sono section of Norwalk.

Check out CB2. Considerably more expensive then Ikea or Bobs, and definitely not cheap, but not top of the line BosDesign/Ethan Allen prices.

Ikea. When I bought my house I furnished the entire house for $3500. Multiple sofas, 3 bookshelves, 2 tables, 8 chairs and 4 bookcases and about 15 lamps.

I second Bob's. You may be pleasantly surprised. Delivery and assembly were a must for me and it's free for both.

I can't believe that nobody mentioned Raymour & Flanagan yet - or Crate & Barrel.

Although I must say my last 2 sectional purchases were from BOB's!!! No offence to the company, but I HATED the Yonkers location. I took a nice drive to the Danbury area one day and was very happy.
