Relocating - need advice (Yonkers, Eastchester: real estate, house, neighborhoods)

I am relocating from MD to either NJ or Westchester NY.

I have read suggestions on other posts, but many areas are out of my price range. What towns would you reccommend with good schools and homes under 600K. I would like to be north of Yonkers, in or south of Tarrytown, near metro. Tall order, I know!

Any suggestions for realtor would also be helpful.

You'd be surprised, home prices are actually going down so it is possible to buy a decent house in the $600k price range. Some areas I would suggest are Hawthorne, Dobbs Ferry and Eastchester. Good schools, close to the train, nice neighborhoods.
