Default Lower Westchester County or Nassau County?
Making big move to east coast for a job in NYC. Have 3 children. 2 middle school and 1 high school. Looking for good public schools, great town, diverse people, short commute on train. Can spend about 1M. Lower Westchester(e.g. Hastings-on-Hudson, Rye, Mamaroneck) or Nassau (e.g. Garden City,Syosset, Manhasset))?

Have you considered the Pelham area. It is approx. 28 mins to the city and meets the requirements you listed.

What's your budget? Pelham can be pricey.

Personally, I don't care for Long Island, but that's just me. Others love it.
