Hi, I posted on another thread about towns commutable to White Plains. We are going to drive up this weekend to check out some areas. I'd like to specifically take a look at White Plains, Yonkers, Pleasantville, and Mt Kisco. Are there specific areas of these towns I should go to in order to get a good feel for potential areas to live? It seems White Plains and Yonkers are larger and might have a different environment depending in the area? Any help is appreciated!
White Plains and Yonkers are much more urban overall, but do have some neighborhoods similar to Pleasantville. Mt Kisco has a large downtown and then mostly residential. Pleasantville probably has the most cohesive town feel of these options- check out Black Cow coffee and the Jacob Burns film center in downtown. The streets between Manville and Bedford are great neighborhood streets with some restored Victorians (Orchard, Guion, Academy, Clark). In White Plains the areas between North Street, Bryant, Ridgeway, and the area bordering Scarsdale I believe are the most residential.
