Hi everyone- I am considering purchasing a house in rye neck in Florence street. I need to be able to walk o the train though. This house is 1 mile from the Mamaroneck station. Is it possible to cut through Florence Park so the walk is less than 20 minutes long? Google map puts the House one mile away with a 20 minute walk so I’m looking for a shortcut!

Any advice is appreciated

there's entrance on Edward place. I would just go and see. Everyone cuts through each other's yard here. I live close by and people often cut through my yard and the elementary school

Frank Ave by the tennis courts (just northwest of Lorena) also has a proper park exit if you're down on the southeast side of Florence. It's possible to cut through near where Frank and Wagner meet, but that would be pretty inconsiderate to those who live there.

A mile isn't TERRIBLE, though New York winters (i.e. rain, snow and sub-temps) can be pretty rough so it may not be safe to do all year-round. From my experience people don't always clear the sidewalks like they are supposed to so what you end up with is a mini-skating rink when it melts or refreezes.
