Anybody in Port Chester, NY?
Curious if 16 Beech St. is still standing - anybody care to take a pic?
Thanks in advance

I need to add 37 Beech to that as well. Is this a rough neighborhood now? I would have elaborated the first time but I work doubles during the week; 30 Beech is where my great grandfather first stayed after immigrating to the USA in 1906, and he later bought 37 Beech. The house would have been sold sometime in the early to late 60s, when he moved to PA due to failing health.

My family was one block over on Purdy and Townsend St's. From what my dad told me it was a poor area. I was last down that way about 10 years ago and it appears alot of the old residence's are still there , even the 3 family my dad lived in. I would guess its about 120 years old now.
Good luck with your hunt.

I wonder if that's it? Looks like there's been a lot of development over the years and I'm sure a number of houses were bulldozed. I could try sending a letter maybe.

That area has changed alot. Who would of thought that the poorest area of the city is now some of the richest. There are waterfront condo's on the river now, I wish they still had the place....lol

Anyone know if the Westchester County Assessor's Office has old property records on file? I was able to get a write-up and a photo of my house from my local assessor that was taken in the late 60s.

I am sure they do. Are you still looking? What exactly do you need? I have a friend that works in the office. Small world. Where are you living now?

IFONLY - Sorry, I just saw your post today. It seems as though the house may have been demolished in the name of progress, but as I said, my local assessors have pictures and write-ups on homes from the 60s that can still be viewed. I'll have to post what addresses I'm interested in, as I have three mentioned in this post and I have to dig out all my old info to see why I was curious about each. I would appreciate info on any mentioned.
