Good morning,

I live in NY and want to rent a weekend home around Katonah.

Is there a good parking option for me to leave my car during the week around the Katonah train station? (I find it easier than keeping a car in NYC.)

I know that Stamford has parking garages but that's a bit far away.

Thanks in advance.

Many Metro North stations have free weekend parking.

MNR Parking

Sounds like he wants all weekday as opposed to weekend parking. And you're probably better off looking for parking less near the station, maybe just posting fliers about someone who might have an extra spot on their property. A clean car sitting in an unused driveway spot with only twice a week access isn't a big imposition for an extra bit of cash.

You are going to have to go train<->car twice a week and the folks doing it ten times weekly are likely to be willing to pay more. Also, town services and policies are oriented to make it easier for residents who are paying the local taxes. I would be surprised if it isn't worth a longer walk or a short uber/cab trip to find a cheaper, albeit somewhat less convenient option.

My bad, didn't read closely.

I will amend my answer to say, bad idea. Assuming $10 bucks a day for a weekday commuter, you're talking $200 a month when you can search for a distant NYC parking spot for $300. Better move is to park in your driveway for free then cab it from train to house on weekends, if possible

Try the storage facility in Bedford Hills, I think it's called Collectors Car Garage and they're affiliated with Katonah Self Storage. Less than 1 mile from the BH train station, right along Railroad Ave there. Easily walkable in the summer and a probably a cheap cab ride if you don't feel like walking a mile. I have no idea what kind of rates they charge but I'm sure they'd offer you a quote.

Why not the driveway/garage of the house you will be renting. When you come up each weekend, just take an uber from the train station to your house, and then when the weekend is over, take an uber back to the train station. Why pay for parking?

This. You're talking a literal small fraction of the price.
