Hi guys!

My family is moving to new york city area for a job relocation (the job is close to Jacob K. Javits Convention Center), and we are trying to figure where to rent a place. We are looking at Scarsdale and Bronxville. It looks like Scarsdale / Bronxville has approximately 33-35min train ride to Grand Central, which makes my commute basically one hour door to door.

I wonder if there any other towns in Westchester (or anywhere outside NYC boundary) that has a train ride to either Grand Central or Penn Station for about 30 min (or less)?

Also, another factor is how easy it is to find a parking spot at train station is the morning. If it's difficult, we'll have to rent only within walking distance to train station. I heard it's not easy for Scarsdale?

Thanks!

MNR service doesn't bring you to Penn, just Grand Central. I'd look into New Rochelle. Lots of transit-oriented development within walking distance of the train. If not, the train station has plenty of parking.

Thanks for the info. Having plenty of rentals within walking distance of the train is definitely helpful.

Pretty much only Pelham in Westchester. However, my understanding is there is a multi-year waiting list for parking at the Metro North station in Pelham, so you'll want to live in walking distance of the train unless you can get a ride every morning.

Understood. Will consider Pelham if we can find a decent rental within walking distance of the train. Not very likely but will keep an eye

Fleetwood looks like 3 min quicker than Bronxville, as it should be since it's one stop closer to grand central Will consider this vs Bronxville since they are on the same line. Thx!
