Hi all, is it realistic to get a parking slot at the Mamaroneck station in the first year or the waitlist is a couple years? For the Rye Neck residents... Thank you...

If you have a Mamaroneck mailing address, I think it's easier. I live in Rye, and I have been on the Metro North Parking lot waiting list for almost four years now. With a Mamaroneck mailing address, you can apply for a spot in the village lot (which right next to the Metro North Lot) and get a spot more quickly.

If you are within the Village of Mamaroneck, you can get an RR permit. I think they are about $600/yr. If not, you can get an NRR permit for about $900/yr. NRR parking is farther out than RR. 2019 permits are up for renewal right now. If you miss this year's window, you should have no problem getting one next year as long as you are on the ball for applying at the right time.

Mailing addresses are irrelevant. It only matters which municipality you live in. Sorry to be a nudge about such things but many people not from our area browse these forums - which is why they exist - and paying attention to mailing addresses and not municipal boundaries is a recipe for disaster for a newbie.

Sorry, should have been more specific. OP addressed the Rye Neck residents, so the only municipalities involved are Rye City and Village of Mamaroneck. So in the Rye Neck school district, your mailing address city = your municipality. Definitely not true in other school districts.
