From what I understand, Bronxville is a big country club town.
I second Katonah. There is a train station, a lovely downtown and a number of Churches. Granted it is a long commute, but it's such a charming town with a main street lined with old houses.
Eastchester is not a country club town. It has a huge Columbus Day Parade. Friends say it has friendly, small town feeling. They love it.
Croton on Hudson. Kids walk home from school by themselves. On the way, they stop at the Blue Pig Ice Cream Shop or The Black Cow Cafe. There is a kids art program between these two shops. I've never heard a bad word about Croton. And, the train station is right there.
Rye Brook: my husband went there and he and two other kids were the only Christians in their class. This was awhile ago.
Pleasantville might be a nice option. Seems to have everything you're looking for. Easier commute than Katonah.
