Children's Theatre Group? (New York, White Plains, Rye: houses, purchase, theater)

Hi, we will be moving to Westchester this summer and looking for a theatre group for our 12 year-old son who is leaving a much-loved group in DC where they put on very interesting Shakespeare adaptations and the kids became a very bonded group of friends over the years. We are not necessarily looking for professional training, but definitely looking for quality instructors and performances that will challenge our young actor. Would appreciate any suggestions from this forum. We are still deciding where we are going to live and for us, knowing where we can find a theatre home for him may play into our decision.

Your son might be too young now, but my kids loved the one week creative writing camp at Sarah Lawrence College. It isn't acting but reading of one's work.

If you love Shakespeare then you need to see Boscobel. It houses the Hudson Valley Shakespeare festival which is regularly reviewed by the New York Times theatre critics.

Westchester is a great place to be for the arts.
