Hi All,

I'm Brazilian and we (my family and I) are moving to NY, basically Westchester region as I'll be working in Tarrytown. My wife is a Doctor (Pediatrician) and we have two kids: boy 7 and girl 2 years old. And we'd like to have some help with:

- Do you know any School in the region (Westchester) the also speaks Portuguese?
- How much would be the rental of a house (not an apartment) with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths close to Tarrytown, like Mamaroneck, Port Chester, etc?
- Do you any Brazilian community in Westchester?

Thanks in advance for all help!!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for Everybody!!!!

There is a portuguese club in tarrytown that supports the small immigrant community. Its a cute artsy town but congested. Its public schools are o.k. I recommend, instead, Irvington. It is one town south of tarrytown and 5 minutes away. However, the schools are great and the town charming. There are a few Brazillian families already living here. (Port chester has a small immigrant brazilian community but I don't recommend residing there its also, far from tarrytown) Somos portugues meu marido e psychologo. Vivemos em Irvington. temos 3 filhos, 7,10 e 12 anos. E um sitio sussegado e com grande percentagem de gente professional. To continue portuguese educations its probably best to have a tutor. linda

Default hi

Eu sou brasileira tambem e vivo aqui na divisa de Nova Yorque com a Pennsylvania por dois meses. Meu esposo e dentista e tem um consultorio aqui. I lived in Westchester region since I got here and I loved. It is the best place to live. There are many brazilians around. In White Plains, there is a Brazilian store very popular, owned by Paulo Turato. There you can get many informations. Other Brazilian comunity is in Mount Vernon, not good to live there, but good to have informations and by Brazilian products. Other plce: Port Chester, not good to live, but to get good manicure and Brazilian Food at CAFE BRAZIL AND COPACABANA RESTAURANT. Brazilian school maybe in Bridgeport CT - not too far from Westchester, but full of Brazilian warmty.
I wish you guys good luck.
