Default Oil - included in the rent or pay it myself?

Hi all, we are moving to a house in Westchester. We are renting first because we never lived in a house before and want to get a feel for the area first. The landlord is giving us a choice: pay $2,600 per month and pay the heating bill ourselves or pay $2,800 per month and the heating is included. I need to decide asap. I'm doing research to find out what is the price for heating a comparable home. It's a bit over 2000 sqft home built in 1970, ranch split level. Not sure how insulated it is. Any suggestions/opinions? Thanks!!!

I called some oil companies and it became obvious that getting the oil included was a way better deal... with oil prices the way they are.. don't want to get stuck with a huge bill. i learned the landlord has family in the oil business so he gets it with a better price and is passing that on to us. Looking forward to a warm/worry free stay. thanks for your input, looks like we did well
