Default Scenic views near Croton-on-Hudson

My family and I plan to take a weekend trip to Croton-on-Hudson. Besides Croton Point Park, are there any other places near Croton-on-Hudson that are easy to access and offer scenic views?

Senasqua park in Croton, also on the Hudson, is lovely.

Brighton Brook Sanctuary in Croton has nice trails through lovely woods.

The Croton Arboretum has nice paths through woods and wetlands (Croton Arboretum) and connects to the village trails which lead up into the highlands and have great views.

The Croton Aqueduct trail is gorgeous.

The bridge over the croton dam is stunning:

The blue mountain reservation has great trails, many with wonderful vistas: Northern Westchester Home: Blue Mountain Reservation

And 10 minutes inland, Turkey Mountain is great:

Have fun!

Thanks for the info! We have a 7 year old son and we think he might enjoy the Croton dam, Blue Mountain Reservation and/or Turkey Mountain. Can the bridge over the dam be accessed from the base of the dam and would you recommend one of the mountains over the other?

The regular access to the Croton Gorge park (at the base of the dam) is closed because they're fixing the bridge. You can park on Route 129 (just past the turn off to the park) and then walk to the bridge over the dam (which is really cool). From the dam you can walk down to the park (which has a playground). You can also access the Croton Aqueduct trail from here.

Turkey Mountain is really short and the walk to the top is easy--my 7 year old does it in 20 minutes. There is a nice view from the top. Getting to a view in Blue Mountain is a lot harder. So for a kid I'd go with Turkey. The best way to Turkey Mountain from Croton is to take 129 to 118. So the Croton Dam and Turkey Mountain make a nice trip together.

One more question. Most of the places you mentioned are best for walking. I plan to take another trip to Croton-on-Hudson this weekend just to look around (we are considering relocating there). Do you know of any scenic views that you can take a car to?
